Decramastic Tiles
The Defendercote resurfacing system.
Here's the facts about Decramastic Tile roofs. When stone chip on steel first came into use, two methods were used to bond the chip to the metal. Acrylic resin worked well and is in use to this day. Mastic didn't and you know the results. Acrylic is the proven winner, we use it and we use only the best.
1. The roof is expertly water-blasted at 3000 PSI, removing all loose chip and moss from the surface of the tiles.
2. The roof is washed down with moss killer to kill any moss spores that could grow under your new Defendercote Roof Coating.
3. The roof is repaired. This type of roof is a lightweight metal tile with a stone chip surface. The flashings are replaced if necessary, (we are the only company able to replace flashings, but if you choose this option an extra charge will apply), worst bent tiles are popped up as these have dents allowing water to pool - but we DO NOT replace tiles, surface rust is treated and loose nails are fastened.
4. The tiles are sprayed with one Defendercote coloured coat, which is the consistency of porridge. This is designed to seal the surface, seal in existing chip, and prevent any further chip loss.
5. A coating of chip is applied over the entire roof including new flashings.
6. The tiles are now sprayed with two more Defendercote coloured coats, which are also the consistency of porridge. These are two very thick coats of polymer acrylic designed to seal the chip permanently to the roof. To help slow down the growth of mould, powerful fungicide is included in the formulation. Our high-build is many times thicker than normal acrylic paint. With ordinary paint, an average roof can be covered with 16 litres. With our three Defendercote colour pigmented coats, we apply approximately 100 litres to the same average roof size (nearly 7 times ordinary paint cover). This gives the finish a hard protective coating designed to withstand the ravages of weather. As our coating is a coloured one it avoids the problem of blooming associated with many other roof coating produvts..
7. Our Defendercote Roof Coating System uses four coats, including a neutral chip. All coats are the same colour as the final finished colour. We are the only company to use a colour matching four coat colour system from start to finish. We are the only company to use a colour matching 4 coat system from start to finish.

4. The entire roof is re-coated with chip during the first coat of the same colour
5. The second high-build top coating of the same colour applied
6. Final top coat of the same colour creates a total weather barrier
