Concrete Tiles

You’ll wish you had found us sooner. You’ll be amazed at how basically sound your roof really is.

We are experts and know exactly how to clean off moss growth, fix any leaks and cracked tiles and replace mortar loss.

We sterilise against fungus and resurface your tiles with coat after coat of Defendercote high build, long life polymer acrylic. No more heavy, water saturated porous tiles. Your roof gets a new lease on life, and your home is weather tight and damp free. It’s good news on the price too.

The Defendercote resurfacing system.

1. The roof is expertly water-blasted at 3000 PSI, removing all moss and loose grit off surface of tiles.

2. The roof is washed down with moss killer to kill any moss spores that could grow under your new Defendercote Roof Coating.

3. The tiles are checked and repaired or replaced if necessary plus the pointing and bedding on your ridges is repaired or replaced, then finally a liberal slurry compound is painted over your ridge system.

4. The tiles are sprayed with two coloured high-build coats, which are the consistency of porridge. these are two very thick coats of polymer acrylic designed to seal the concrete with a matt finish for good adhesion. To help slow down the growth of mould, powerful fungicide is included in the formulation. Our Hi-build is many times thicker than normal acrylic paint. With ordinary paint an average roof can be covered with 16 litres. With our two Defendercote base coats plus our final top coat, we apply approximately 100 litres to the same average roof size. (Nearly 7 times ordinary paint cover).

5. The tiles are finally sprayed with one Defendercote colour pigmented top coat in high-gloss. This gives a sheen to the finish and a hard protective coating designed to withstand the ravages of weather. As our top coat is a coloured one it avoids the problem of blooming associated with many roof coating products.

6. We are the only New Zealand company that uses a complete 3 coat colour system.
